TIME WHEEL"running on the time" (1999): product semantics, modeling with Alias Studio Tools
The
owner of a sedan usually is proud of one's car and
willing to express its unique image through other
accessories such as a portable key holder or a clock
in an office. The time wheel is a watch, whose hands
symbolize spokes of a wheel. The hands rotating on
the time can be compared to the tire running on the
road. It satisfies the fondness of owner drivers by
reflecting the fancy and dynamic image of a car.
SPIDER on the WEBlight and shadow design (1999): product semantics, mock-up (aluminum and acril)
This light and shadow design mimics the structure and the image of the spider on the web. The light looks like floating over shadow patterns as if a spider does on its net. Amount of luminosity can be adjusted by changing the height of a steel cover. [MORE]
REFLECTION of WATER space with
water and light for daily refreshment (2001): modeling with 3D MAX Award at Korea Environment Design Competition
Modern
cities we live in are mostly filled with gray woods
of buildings and noisy traffic sounds. I suggest a
public square for people to take rest in a daily life.
In an open place consisting of watering fountains,
stair-benches and several columns to display artworks,
people can spend time with others for cultural activities
as well as refresh their mind soundly. The composition
of a space also gives rhythmical impression because
of the harmonious positioning of fountains and benches.
EMOTIONAL BRIDGE (2001): concep simulation with physical mock-up (acril, wire)
This is a conceptual bridge that changes its color according to peoples' steps on it. As an integration of physical architecture and interactive media, this idea of emotional bridge was suggested to provide pleasure of walking in public space. The concept was simulated using different colors of backgroud lights.
HOLLOWEEN PARTY (1999): compuater graphics using MAYA (MERL script to simulate group dancing)
TO BE A BUTTERFLY (2001): Flash story with images, sound, and typography (Korean)
GRAPHIC COMPOSITION I (1998)
Visuzliation of different feelings:
peace, fear, hope,
spring, collision, sorrow
(paper, poster color, color pencil)
GRAPHIC COMPOSITION II (1998)
Visualization of opposite adjectives, poster color
Primitive: I expressed rough and dynamic energy that directly comes from the nature (without any artificial refinement) for an image of 'primitive' with dark and deep colors (dark yellow, dark red, dark gree, and brown) and flourish circular shapes.
Modern: I expressed a refined and calm atmosphere for an image of 'moder', which is so complicate thus hard to understand at a first glance but well organized as a whole.
3D COMPOSITION (1998)
3-dimensional color composition (paper, mirror)
visualizing a feeling of fear, like being watched and surrounded by invisible beings (paper, mirror)
